There were historic firsts across the United States on Nov. 6th, as Native American, Muslim and African-American women, and L.G.B.T. candidates broke barriers in the Midterm elections. Watch and read the New York Times recap here:

Sharice Davids, a Kansas Democrat, was one of two Native American women elected to the House of Representatives.
